Conventional Wagon and Container Transports from Istanbul/Halkalı Terminal towards Europe:

We provide service with scheduled and unscheduled voyages between Turkey and Central and Eastern European countries for all kinds of palletized/non-palletized general cargo, minerals, iron and steel, raw materials, and food transports. In transports, besides our 20’DC/30’OT/40’PW/45’PW/Swap body equipment, we also provide door-to-door service to Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and surrounding countries with platforms, closed, sliding roof wagons, and every type of wagon available in the TCDD inventory.

Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Line CIS Direction Conventional and Container Railway Transports:
Since its opening in 2018, our company has been offering regular railway transportation services between Turkey and Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line. • Evaluation:

  If TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş. deems it appropriate to enter a contract, the customer is invited to sign the contract with the following documents:
• Required documents for the contract:

  The original or notarized copy of the Company’s Trade Registry Gazette

  The original or notarized copy of the Signature Circular

  The original or notarized copy of the Chamber of Commerce Activity Certificate

  The original or notarized copy of the Authorization Certificate

  A copy of the Tax Plate

• Signing the Contract:

  The customer who signs the contract provides the insurances for the wagons on behalf of and for the account of TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş.
• Starting Operations:

  After the insurance is provided and a certified copy of the registration certificate obtained from the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Railway Regulation General Directorate is given to TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş, operations on TCDD lines commence.

• Operation of Private Wagons on TCDD Lines

  As the first train operator in our country, TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş. enables the operation of freight wagons owned by other individuals on the national railway infrastructure network through contracting, after registration by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
• Application:

  Customers interested in entering a contract should apply to the TCDD TAŞIMACILIK A.Ş. Freight Department Directorate with a petition that includes the following information along with a certified copy of the registration certificate:

  • Type of wagon,
  • Number of wagons,
  • The route on which transportation will take place,
  • Type of goods to be transported,
  • Transportation schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly),
  • Parking station.

• What is Gauge? The dimensions of bridges, tunnels, ramps, and other such structures found along the railway route.
• What is Shipment Gauge? The height and width dimensions that railway vehicles and wagons can pass through without any safety measures being taken, both when loaded and unloaded (considering the height of the wagon platform + the height of the cargo).
• What is Structure Gauge? The maximum height and width dimensions for loads that exceed the shipment Gauge, indicating the largest size of load that can be transported.
• What is Exceptional Transport? If a transport requires special precautions between the departure and arrival stations during its journey, this transport is considered exceptional transport.

• Kapıkule-Edirne Line Section Gauge: Used for transports between Kapıkule and Edirne.
• Kapıkule-Halkalı Line Section Gauge: Used for transports between Kapıkule and Halkalı.
• Van-Kapıköy Line Section Gauge: Used for transports between Van and Kapıköy.
• Manisa-İzmir (Alsancak) Line Section Gauge: Used for transports between Manisa and İzmir (Alsancak).
• TCDD General Gauge: Used for all transports outside the above-mentioned line sections. The gauge values mentioned in points 1, 3, and 4 are the same and represent the highest gauge value used in TCDD. The gauge value mentioned in point 2 is the second largest gauge value used in TCDD. The gauge mentioned in point 5 represents the smallest value used on TCDD lines. If a wagon to be transported passes through a region with more than one gauge value, loading is done according to the smallest of these gauges.

Example: For a transport from Edirne to Kayseri, a route with two different gauge values will be used. These are the Kapıkule-Halkalı Line Section Gauge and the TCDD General Gauge. Since the TCDD General Gauge has the lowest value, the wagon will be loaded considering the dimensions of the TCDD General Gauge.
